ZAGREB, Jan 17 (Hina) - Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor met in Zagreb on Monday with the head of the European Union Delegation in Croatia, Paul Vandoren, informing him about the government's activities aimed at concluding EU accession negotiations.

Kosor informed Vandoren about the achievements in Chapter 8 (Competition Policy) and Chapter 23 (Judiciary and Fundamental Rights), and about the government's measures for economic recovery, the removal of obstacles to investment, and the fight against corruption.

Vandoren said that Croatia had made evident progress in the two policy areas, saying that it was realistic to expect the accession negotiations to be wrapped up in June. He also spoke favourably of the recent government reshuffle, stressing that its main purpose was to ensure economic recovery.

Kosor and Vandoren agreed to hold periodic meetings about the conclusion of accession talks.
