Ministry of Finance does administrative and other tasks related to: analyzes and prognoses of macroeconomic trends which are basis for defining the fiscal policy and state budget; making the basic drafts for finance of public needs and drafts of budget and non-budget funds and local communities budgets.
Ministry of Finance does administrative and other tasks related to: budget consolidation, making the proposals of financing systems for public needs and local administrative and self-government units; carrying out the planned state budget; budget controlling; state accounting standards; making of accounting plan, management of of the State Treasury ledger and composing of financial reports; management of budget investments, composition of short term financial needs reports, monitoring the income, expenses and cash balance sheet, programming of external and internal debts, preparing and maintaining the records of issued state securities, logging of immediate and conditional government obligations and monitoring of the level of amortization of domestic and foreign debts, logging and monitoring of state provided loans; preparation of drafts of legal and other regulations and basis for the holding the negotiations in the area of financial relations with foreign countries, which are the result of multilateral and bilateral cooperation and credit cooperation with international and regional financial institutions, foreign governments and commercial banks; operational tasks concerning the Republic of Croatia membership in international financial organizations; stimulation of foreign investments; systematic monitoring of natural disasters and war damages; management of concession registry; production of analytical materials for the area of banking and foreign exchange currency systems and insurance systems; tax system and tax policy, customs system and policy of customs and non-customs protective measures, monitoring and inspection in the area of taxes, customs and other public sources of income, foreign currency exchange and foreign trade dealings, holding of games of fortune and entertainment games; taking measures to find out about and prevent money laundering; monitoring of procuration of goods, services and assignment of works.
