Prime Minister Kosor announces meeting with opposition leaders for Tuesday
ZAGREB, Feb 6 (Hina) - After talks with Croatian officials negotiating accession to the European Union, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said on Saturday she would discuss constitutional changes with the opposition on Tuesday and that the amendments could be adopted by the end of March.
"The meeting with opposition leaders is scheduled for Tuesday, when we should wrap up the talks and by the end of March we should wrap up the job," Kosor said after the talks.
Kosor and the negotiators discussed the agriculture, state administration, and Chapter 23 "Judiciary and Fundamental Rights". They agreed to set up a commission for using EU funds, to comprise only ministers.
Kosor expressed hope that two more negotiation chapters would be opened at the next intergovernmental conference, scheduled for 19 February, and another two closed.
"We're making good progress... I hope to complete a large part of the job during Spain's EU presidency," Kosor said.
